This project is a Lithograph. The penguin is the only image that is mine. This was a group project where we were all tasked with creating an image then presenting all the images on the stone in a collection.
Lithographic is basically painting different weights of grease on a smooth stone. Depending on the density of the grease used would define how light or dark the lines would be.
Background
This was a group project. Each person in the class was required to create
an image. My image (The Penguin) was designed for a friend of mine in
Nebraska. She is a penguin fan, so I dug around for a few images to
capture penguins at play. After the image was completed I was left with
trying to come up with a unique way of bringing a unity to all the images
that the other students had created. I was sitting in the computer lab at
River Falls, Wisconsin (NeXT lab, on the machine named Tigger) mulling over
the issue when I started to see a story come out. Funny enough it was based
on a story about a friend of mine's role-playing character.
